Our Journey
2000
Rob McKay founded AssessAdvantage in 2000 after completing a BA in Business Psychology and an MA(Hons) in Industrial & Organisational Psychology from Massey University. Since then, Rob has built extensive expertise in recruitment assessments and solutions, advising New Zealand and Australian companies for more than 20 years. He is also the author of No More Square Pegs, along with several eBooks and dozens of articles. In addition, Rob shares his knowledge through his weekly podcasts at Tipsforhiring. His strong foundation in business and people performance has helped organisations make better hiring decisions.
2018
In 2018, Justin Tye and Andrew Bain acquired the AssessAdvantage business. Together, they founded exeed Limited, one of New Zealand’s most successful IT distribution companies. A key factor behind their success was their focus on hiring great people. They used psychometric testing throughout their recruitment process to identify the right candidates and build a strong team culture. As a result, the business could scale quickly while maintaining high-performing teams. When the opportunity arose to own a business that helps organisations achieve better hiring outcomes, Justin and Andrew saw the potential to help other companies create the same success.
2023
In 2023, Sheryl Logan joined the team as a working shareholder, bringing extensive experience in technology, leadership, and people development. Sheryl began her IT career with Harvey Norman, where she discovered her passion for both technology and working with people. She later became Australasia’s youngest Harvey Norman Franchisee before moving to Bendon as a Regional Manager. Afterward, she returned to the IT industry as a senior BDM for HP and Samsung. Throughout her career, Sheryl has focused on coaching, team leadership, and building high-performing teams. As a result, she has successfully attracted, hired, and retained top talent across various organisations. Today, Sheryl is dedicated to transforming the recruitment process and helping businesses hire smarter to build successful organisations.
